After graduating from The Cooper Union School of Art, Stephen Barker worked for three years with architectural photographer Wolfgang Hoyt, primarily designing his lighting. Stephen has shot for architects and designers since 1985, while shooting portraits on location for such magazines as Vanity Fair, Vogue Italia, Met Home, and ARTnews. He has had solo exhibitions in New York, Boston, Paris, and Zurich, and has taught at the International Center of Photography, NYC, and at Bennington College, Vermont.

Stephen exhibited his most recent body of work, The Archivist's Wig, at the Bernard Toale Gallery in 2008.
